SOHO – Art Plus DElight – Special Editions
Of the limited and hand-signed special editions, there are always only 10 lamps per series (consisting of 4 different motifs).
We try again and again to find interesting and selected artists for these campaigns and look forward to offering you a wide selection of fascinating motifs in the future.
The lamp body is always offered in a special finish with a color gradient from white at the top to black at the bottom. This makes the lampshade appear as if it were floating.
The current special edition was designed by Walter Maurer.
Biography of Walter Maurer
Walter Maurer, born in Dachau in 1942, is a German artist, painter and graphic designer, as well as a former university teacher of art & design and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He is an important representative of modern art between cubism and expressionism in Germany. Maurer began his career in 1967 and established himself as a successful independent color designer and founder of the unique art lacquer watercolor technique. He combines a wide variety of colors into virtuoso works of art on different surfaces and implements the lacquer watercolors on vehicles, airplanes and sculptures. His artworks often address ethnic themes that promote integration and oppose racism, ignorance and violence.
Maurer’s art collaborations with Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Stella, AR Penck, Alexander Calder, Karl Lagerfeld, César Manrique, Ernst Fuchs, Jeff Koons and Konstantin Grcic show a wide range of his unique lacquer painting technique. Walter Maurer works and lives in Germany.
